Hello, I am Kristin.

UX researcher passionate about people and giving them the best online experience.

UI designer who loves to create something beautiful online and in life.

Nice to meet you! A little about me…

Designer: UX / UI / Website / Graphics / Logo

“You are such a busy bee,” my mom would always say! Now, I am still busy learning the world of UX/UI! I am career switching from Early Childhood Education to UX/UI Design. I have a Google UX Design Certification obtained 2023 through a scholarship from The Mom’s Project. I have tons of transferable skills including a decade in customer service management roles and am looking to work for a stable company with design growth opportunities.

Dedicated Mobile App

Ingredient labels can be hard to read and confusing.

Problem

Nature Picks Best is a mobile app designed to allow users to easily identify their favorite organic ingredients and order organic dog food containing those ingredients.

Project Goal

Timeline

November 2022 - January 2023

My Role

UX Designer and Researcher from conception to delivery.

Conducted user research, created personas, user journey maps, conducted interviews (moderated usability studies), paper and digital wireframing, low and high fidelity prototyping, mock-ups, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.

My Responsibilities

The app gives users the freedom to explore different ingredients and see how those ingredients can help their dog(s). It allows users to feel safe and save time finding dog foods that are purely organic and contain their desired ingredients.

Impact

I learned that not all users are the same. They experienced the app differently from each other and I had to make many iterations to ensure the app was easy to use and their needs were being met.

What I Learned

Responsive Website Design

Urban Floral Designs is a responsive website that allows users to customize their floral arrangements giving them more control of the floral design/arrangement.

Project

Allow users to have options to customize their arrangements based on their individual preferences.

Goal

My Role

Lead UX designer and UX researcher

Jan - Feb 2023

Timeline

I would add more pages to the flow to show different filter options in more detail such as size difference when choosing between standard, deluxe and premium options. This would add more value to using this particular website considering users want to have more control over the look and feel of the arrangements. I would darken the filter text and clicked color text for accessibility. I would also add a “create account” button to the final confirmation page to allow users to keep info stored for faster ordering in the future.

Next Steps- iterations

Responsive Website Design

MVP is a dedicated mobile app and responsive website created to add volunteers to assist people with M (meals), V (visits), and P (prayer).

Project

Administrators were having a hard time keeping track of volunteers in their growing church.

Problem

Make it east to add volunteers and eventually link them to needs in the church (MVP= Meals, Visits, Prayer) and send requests based on availability.

Goal

My Role

 UX designer, UX researcher

Time Line

March 2023 (2 weeks)

Conducted user research, created personas, user journey maps, conducted interviews (moderated usability studies), paper and digital wireframing, low and high fidelity prototyping, mock-ups, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.

My Responsibilities
